Advantages of Heating with Oil

#2 fuel oil is a crude oil derivative that is used to heat homes throughout Connecticut. Other forms of heating fuel are gas, propane, kerosene and electric. Heating oil is one of the more popular forms of heat. Many oil users feel that they receive a much more natural flow of heat from their radiators or ducts when heating oil is being burned. The advantages of heating with oil are many, but for the sake of engaging in a 30 page discourse, I will review only the major benefits.

Heating Oil is Safe
You don't hear on the news oil leaks that cause explosions. Natural gas leaks, can cause an explosion if the gas comes into contact with fire. Also carbon monoxide is more frequently a danger with failing gas appliances. If an oil furnace is at the point where carbon monoxide may leak, they furnace will in many cases not work at all.

Many Different Heating Oil Companies
If you are a natural gas or electric user, than you usually only have 1 utility company that you can deal with. That isn't the case with propane, kerosene, or oil where many local dealers are at your disposal is you need them. That usually plays a benefit since we live in a capitalist society competition can drive prices down. Where it really comes into play is if you have a negative experience with your gas or electric company. In that scenario you are stuck, unable to go to a new company. With oil on the other hand, if the company you are dealing with does not treat you well, than you as a customer have the freedom to go to any other company that you choose. Home Heating Oil is an American standard when it comes to business values that are at the core of this nation.
